Boots Botanics - Soothing Cleansing Balm

So I've lost count of how many out of 6 of these Boots Botanics products I have shown you.  If I hazard a guess, I would say this is number 4.

I've had this for absolutely ages now, and when my Liz Earle cleanser ran out, I decided that I should most probably move onto this before I buy anything else!  So this is Boots Botanics Soothing Cleansing Balm.

From experience, I know that my skin prefers these kind of cleansers, the ones that you melt into your skin and then wash off with a muslin/cotton cloth, so I was expecting to get on fine with this one.

The Boots Botanics Face Soothing and Cleansing balm comes in a large plastic pot with silver lid.  As mentioned, it is one of those cleansers you wash off with a cloth, and rather than expecting you to already own one, it comes with a cotton cloth in the box.

Now this cloth is strange, its not like a muslin cloth, but instead feels a little waxy.  It's also not quite big enough to cover your entire face, which is a bit irritating when trying to compress against your skin, but I can deal with that!

It also comes with a little message in the box saying that some crystallisation may be seen due to the nature of the ingredients, and you can see that quite clearly above, but it doesn't affect the usage, as it all just melts anyway!

So onto using Botanics Soothing Cleansing Balm.  I literally need the smallest amount of this product, just a big enough lump/chunk to cover the tip of a finger.  I then splodge it on my face and then massage it in.  As you start to massage the product into your skin it melts into basically an oil/balm cleanser.  I use it all over my face and even to remove my eye make up, but be careful to not get it into your eyes!  

I tend to either massage it in for a few minutes, or leave it for a minute or two while I brush my teeth and then massage it a little bit.  I find this gives me a deeper cleanse.  I then run the cloth under warm water, hold it against my face for 30 seconds and wipe all the dirt and grime off - wonderful!

It's also a wonderful price, at £6.63 for a 70g pot. I can't lie, I was surprised that, for that price, it worked, let alone worked as well as it does!  Yes it takes a little bit of work to get it into the skin, and yes it can be a bit annoying having only the one cloth (although you get more when you re-buy!), but it gets my face clean.  Most importantly it doesn't make my skin angry.  My skin feels soft, clean and content afterwards, and that's all I can really ask for!
