Bobbi Brown Lip Colour - Roseberry

So my last visit to the Bobbi Brown counter also ended up with me coming away with a new lipstick.  Lipstick is a relatively new thing to me, as I have never really felt confident enough to try and pull off any colour on my lips, so usually just stuck to lip balm.  I've always really wanted to though, so when the assistant suggested that I try a lipstick I jumped at the opportunity, and after trying out a couple of colours, she matched me up to Roseberry.

Bobbi Brown - Roseberry
Roseberry is from Bobbi Brown's Lip Colour collection, so as such offers high coverage, with a creamy texture and a semi-matte finish.  I like it as it's a really easily build-able colour, allowing you to wear it as a stain or a full coverage lip colour.

Bobbi Brown - Burnished

I have several Bobbi Brown Longwear Cream Shadows which I bought when I went for my latest makeup refresh.  However this is the newest addition to my collection.

I went to the Bobbi Brown stand looking for a green eyeshadow and tried several.  However whilst talking to the assistant, she mentioned that coppery colours would really suit my complexion and would make my eyes pop.  When she brought over Burnished, I wasn't so sure what it would look like on my eyes, but decided to go with it - it could always be taken off again!

Andrea Fulerton - Gemstone Overcoat

I spend a fair amount of my free time reading other blogs, and trawling the internet for interesting nail varnishes.  While doing this, I came across a blog entry on Varnish Me, where Olivia uses Golden Rose Scale Effect 06 as an overcoat.  I absolutely fell in love with this look and went on the hunt for Golden Rose nail varnish in the UK.  They have just come to the UK however I believe the scale effect nail polishes have been discontinued as they are not listed in their catalogue.

Whilst hunting, I came across the Andrea Fulerton range.  Seeing that they stock it in Superdrug I decided to pop in and have a personal look at the range. Wow was I impressed!  So many choices to create some brilliant looks!  I had a hard time picking my favourites, and to be honest I came away with a fair few which I will most definitely be showing you as soon as I wear them (one of which matches the Golden Rose style on Varnish Me).

I was looking for something easy to pop on before work this morning, and the Gemstone Overcoat caught my eye - sparkling away in my nail varnish box.

Ecotools - Sustainable Facial Buffs

Wandering around my local Boots recently (I do this a lot as it is right next to work - so great for killing time) I spotted their new(ish) Ecotools range.  I'm sure I've walked past it before, but never really paid it much attention.  Having a bit of extra time to spare one day I found myself studying every shelf in that shop in detail (amazing what boredom can do to you!).  It was whilst doing this, that I spotted the Ecotools Sustainable Facial Buffs.

At £2.99 I figured they were a pretty reasonable price, and might serve well as a temporary replacement for my somewhat manky old muslin cloths.

Lanolips 101 Ointment

So UK weather still isn't really sure if it's summer yet, but I'm hoping we're at least not going to get any more snow!  Winter for me has always meant really badly cracked lips that split and peel, and anyone who has seen my twitter knows that I was recently moaning about my lips splitting during the night.  Having seen it mentioned on other people's blogs, and having not heard of it before, I decided to do a bit of research into Lanolips 101 ointment.

Barbara Daly - Tea Rose

Well the last manicure held out, until yesterday when it chipped so I had to take it off.  So for today I decided to go for something a little less "gothic" than last time, which was a bit more "every-day".

First stamping manicure

Today is the day I find out my results for my degree - 4 years of hard work finally coming to an end!  I don't get my results until 4pm, so I've been trying to keep myself distracted this morning.  One of my distraction techniques was to do my nails, and the results are below:

Nails: 17th June 2011
Base: Seche Clear
Colour: Two coats of China Glaze Liquid Leather
Stamp: BM20
Stamping colour: China Glaze Avalanche
Top coat: Seche Vite

I think it matches my logo, what do you think?

PS WISH ME LUCK!!!!!!!!!!

Bobbi Brown - Organizer

I think my boyfriend was in slight despair over the fact that my makeup is usually strewn everywhere, in random collections of bags.  Having just splurged a bit of money on some new makeup (mostly Bobbi Brown), he thought I should have somewhere nice to store the new stuff (meanwhile I can leave the old stuff strewn everywhere!), and so very kindly bought me the Bobbi Brown Organizer.

Mavala Cuticle Oil

I only bought this a couple of days ago when I was thinking about doing nail varnish swatches for this blog.  Then I actually studied my nails and realised they weren't really in a state to be displayed to the world....so before reaching for gloves to hide them away I figured I should maybe take the slightly less drastic action of looking after them for once!

My hands and nails are pretty neglected.  I have a part-time job as a merchandiser, and as such they are forever getting battered against metal, covered in cleaning products and generally abused with little remorse!
The nail on my left index finger is also a little worse for wear after my boyfriend accidentally shut my finger in the jam of a car door in January, breaking my finger in the process! - OUCH!  Needless to say my nail got more than a little damaged, which I'm still trying to grow out!

Having had a quick study of the nail aisle in my local Boots I decided on the Mavala Cuticle Massage Oil - "For the perfect nail contour".  I bought it because it seemed a reasonable price compared to the others £5.62 (some were over £15) but I figured it was a well known brand, so I decided to trust it.

Hello

Well.....having spent years reading other blogs, I finally decided to set up my own!

I designed the header picture myself, so what do you think of it all so far? Colour scheme ok?

Obviously I'm missing my posts, but I'll be starting on them as soon as possible, so keep checking back!
