Lanolips - Lemonaid Lip Aid

Having been blown over by the Lanolips 101 ointment, I have since found myself considering trying out other products in the Lanolips range.

When I clicked onto the Lanolips website for a bit of "next purchase" research, I was pleased to see that more Boots stores now stock Lanolips! Even though ordering into store last time wasn't exactly difficult, it being in my local store definitely made my purchase easier.

Boots now seem to stock the Lanolips 101 ointment and the Lanolips Lemonaid Lip Aid.  I'm yet to see the coloured versions in store, but they can be ordered into store.

Having already purchased the Lanolips 101 ointment, I decided to try out the Lanolips Lemonaid Lip Aid.

Lanolips Lemonaid Lip Aid

As the name suggests, Lanolips Lemonaid Lip Aid contains organic citric acid from lemons.  As such the lipbalm is slightly yellow coloured, and smells like lemon sherbert sweets - yummy!  The citric acid is there to act as a natural exfoliator to get rid of dry skin.  It's also a little bit more glammed up than Lanolips 101 ointment as it has a slight shimmer to it, but to be honest it's barely noticeable on the lips.

Lanolips Lemonaid Lip Aid does work well as an exfoliator, I found it to slowly minimise the amount of dry skin on my lips.  However it doesn't give an instant effect like a lip scrub does.  It does seem to melt faster and thinner than Lanolips 101 ointment and as such did not seem to wear as long on my lips.

Despite the packaging saying it was a "2x size tube" at 12.5g it's still smaller than the 17.5g Lanolips 101 ointment.  It also works out more expensive per gram than the Lanolips 101 ointment, as this tube is £9.18 from the Boots website.

The tube is the same design as the Lanolips 101 ointment, in that it doesn't have an applicator end, so is best applied with fingers.

For me, Lanolips Lemonaid Lip Aid is a good product, but I find it a little greasy in comparison to the Lanolips 101 ointment and as yet I'm not as sold on it as I am the original.  Maybe with continued use it will grow on me and with winter approaching, it might turn out to be a saviour product!!!

What's your one beauty product you couldn't survive winter without? Do you have a favourite lip balm that always works for you?
