Boots 17 Magnetized Nail Polish - Grey/Gun Metal

So I'm sure you've all seen plenty of magnetic manicures by now, but I really loved mine when I wore it, so thought I would show it to you!

Boots 17 Magnetized Nail Polish - Silver/Gun Metal

Boots 17 Magnetized Nail Polish is available in Boots stores and online, priced at £5.99 for 10ml.  I don't think that's bad, when you compare it to the £13 for a Nails Inc equivalent!  Plus you get Boots points!

The outer lid lifts off, to provide access to a standard nail varnish lid.  The magnet is on the outer lid, and has a cuticle guard so that you can line the magnet up with your nail.  The magnet itself produces a wave pattern in the polish as you can see below:

To be honest the application was a bit of a nightmare and took a lot of practise.  You need to be careful to not make the layer too thin or the pattern won't show, or too thick as then the polish lifts onto the magnet!  It took me a lot of attempts to get them worthy of a picture!

The picture shows one coat of Boots 17 Magnetized Nail Polish in Grey/Gun Metal over one coat of China Glaze Liquid Leather.  I did this as it makes the effect stand out more.

What do you think of magnetic polishes? Are you bored of them yet? (I hope not, I have more colours to show you!)

Bryony x

  1. looks really good on you. I have just bought this and looking forward to trying it out x

  2. I got this a while ago but in the blue version, and it didn't work at all! Whereas your nails in the gunmetal look amazing! ):
